Fostering a better electronic music community for Northeast Ohio.

About this site

I've been wandering around the Cleveland electronic music scene for a while now, and find that it's split into a lot of small groups. This site is an attempt to unite the little pockets of electronic musicians and hopefully do something great.

Is it a replacement for the now long-gone SynthCleveland? Well, it's an attempt, I guess.

Feel free to sign up (and we do support OpenID, so you can use credentials that exist elsewhere) and upload your music, blog about the Cleveland music scene, or discuss whatnot on our forums.

NEOelectro on Facebook

In an attempt to reach out to a broader audience, I created a Facebook group for NEOelectro activities. Check it out if you're on Facebook!

Just testing uploads. This is a little thing I apparently started on Halloween 2007. I just extended it out to about a minute.

Technical difficulties largely fixed

I had to reload all the audio files (and uninstall and reinstall the Drupal Audio module), so all the music is back and Flash-playable. However, all the notes are (at least temporarily) gone. I also seem to have uncovered a nasty bug as well, where when one bit of Audio metadata is edited from within Drupal, all of it gets strangely truncated and has to be hand-edited in the MySQL tables (which I had to do FOR EVERY SONG). I'm not too happy with that state of affairs.

This is one of the earliest songs I've composed (that I'm happy with, anyway). Recorded sometime in 1996.

Developed over the course of several weeks sometime between 1998 and 2000. Started as a one-hour collage with musical overdubs. Edited and overdubbed into a 1/2 hour piece the next week, and then edited/overdubbed into the 15 minute version here. Unfortunately, the first two revisions are lost to the ages.

This was also the piece playing at 2:45am at Scorched Nuts when I was asked to stop DJing.

Samples lots of shortwave activity.
Gear used: Yamaha RY-10, Yamaha TG-33, Realistic (Moog) MG-1, Alesis Wedge.
